Excursion to Fiby Primeval Forest
L and I started today's walk through Fiby Primeval Forest one hour before noon. All the time it was harsh sunlight, not ideal for photography in general, and especially not for black and white ditto. So, it was a challenge to get some more or less decent shots. Then, why did I choose to shoot b/w? Because yesterday I picked up the Leica Summaron-M 28 mm f:5.6 at Wibergs Foto (Leica Centre Stockholm) and I couldn't wait to try it out. Mounted on the Leica M Monochrom (CCD), of course. The lens is a remake of the classic "pancake" screw-mount version, originally made between 1955 and 1963. It is a piece of pure mechanical artistry. Beautiful to behold, a tactile pleasure to handle.
