Monday 23 – Friday 27: Last Monday L and I drove north to to Funäsdalen in Härjedalen. Stayed the night at Eriksgården's Hotel, and on Tuseday morning we drove to Ljungdalen, where we parked the car at the Ripan parking lot. We put on our walking boots, and our rucksacks, and started hiking along the Pilgrims' Route towards the Helags mountain range. Slept two nights in our Hilleberg's Stalon tent from the early 1980's, reliving younger days. Due to the heatwave there was a total fire ban, so we had to do with cold food, drinking water from the streams. Funäsdalen was a real gem. There was a real photography store, decent restaurants and bars, and a REALLY good café – Hemma hos Edith./At Home at Edit. On the Friday we drove south again, heading back to Sågmyra. Took a detour via Transtrand, Lima, Malung, Vansbro, and Leksand. Had lunch at a cooperative bar and restaurant called Dalen (The Valley). Interesting place with home cooked food – you'll not leave this place hungry, that's for sure. Arrived Sågmyra at eight pm.
