Driving Day

Today was not a good photo diary day, as I spent a lot of time driving the Volvo. After breakfast I drove to Stockholm, where I met up with K at the Central station. In the back of the car was a cardboard box containing a vintage brass pendant lamp, made by the Finnish designer Paavo Thynell (1890–1973). From the Central Station we then drove to Götgatan, where the Mässingsmäster ("Brass Master") shop is situated. K left the lamp for renovation. Driving in central Stockholm is hell. Everywhere there are major construction works in different states of progress, one way streets, and overall more or less medieval urban planning. We made it, however, and also made our way out of Stockholm, turning back to Uppsala. We drove to Segerstedhuset, where we picked up L when she finished work, and then off to IKEA, where K and L bought a highchair for young E to sit in when visiting his grandparents in Uppsala. Parked the car. Unloded the IKEA stuff, and went (by foot) to Taps Beer Bar for a couple of beers and something to eat. Success! Great DIPA and lamb sausage with sauerkraut. K is sleeping over, as we all are celebrating birthdays tomorrow, together with young E and his parents.

Distance covered (as measured by the iPhone): 7,5 kilometers
